The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) is part of Evangel University and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of The Association of Theological Schools (ATS), the internationally recognized accrediting body of seminaries and schools of divinity in the United States and Canada.
AGTS was accredited by the NCA in 1978. After a series of five-year visits based on the seminary’s need to address what NCA considered to be important issues of governance and control, it granted a ten-year reaffirmation in 1992. In the same year, the Seminary became an accredited member of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS). A joint visit by both accrediting associations occurred during March 2001, and another joint visit in 2011 resulted in a positive ten-year affirmation. After the consolidation with Central Bible College and Evangel University in 2013, the ATS visited the campus and extended AGTS’ accreditation until 2023.
