Director’s Note
Jane Williams is the Assistant Professor of Intercultural Studies, Director of Global Cultures & Compassion & Program Coordinator of Intercultural Studies program at Evangel University. She is currently doing her doctoral studies in Intercultural Education at Biola University’s Cook School Intercultural Studies. She earned her Master of Divinity with a concentration in cross-cultural studies at Fuller Theological Seminary & was awarded the Sandy Ford Fellowship in 2003. Jane also received a Master of Education from UCLA in bilingual secondary education in 1999. She graduated with a Spanish & Portuguese Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and was awarded the Charles Kettering Fellowship. Jane and her husband Jason have been Assemblies of God Global ministers for the last 21 years teaching and training pastors all over Asia. She has taught in China for 8 years, at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary in Baguio City, Philippines for 7 years and at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL for 3 years. Jane is passionate about global missions, evangelism, discipleship, mentoring and ministry to children, college students and families. She loves teaching, engaging students from various backgrounds, drinking coffee, trying new food and restaurants and building lifelong relationships.
The purpose of this class is to provide you with the opportunity to explore another culture in a supervised setting with mentors who guide the process. By participating in the Global Cultures & Compassion experience, you will develop personal spiritual formation, experience global cultures, learn about other perspectives and worldviews, and actively participate in service and witness projects.
