Dr. Langston was born in Chicago, IL, and lived in Southern California until she started high school when her family moved to the Springfield area. She spent 21 years teaching in Springfield Public Schools (3rd, 5th and 6th grades) and then spent the last three years of her public school career as an International Baccalaureate Organization Program Coordinator for the district. In addition to her IB duties, she worked as a summer school building principal and assistant principal at the middle school and high school level. She accepted a faculty position at Evangel University in the fall of 2012. As a member of the Education Department, she has held several different titles. Her responsibilities have included teaching undergraduate teacher education courses and graduate and doctoral leadership courses. She has served the department as the Director of Clinical and Field Experiences and the Assistant Chair for Graduate Education Programs, and is currently the Coordinator for the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction. Her duties as Coordinator of the Ed.D. program include facilitating program and curriculum development, advising the program’s Ed.D. students, and recruiting and marketing the program.
Dr. Langston has two adult daughters, Bethany and Emily, and one granddaughter, Genevieve. She was an Evangel parent before she became an Evangel professor as her daughter, Emily, earned a degree in business from Evangel. She loves the Evangel community and feels blessed to be part of the Education Department.
