Biography:

In 1995 I attended Evangel University with the intent to obtain a degree in elementary education. However, as I began my studies, I became fascinated with special education. This was when the Lord gave me a passion to learn creative strategies to help all learners. While at Evangel, I met my husband, Paul, who grew up in New Jersey. Shortly after I graduated, we moved back to Pennsylvania. I taught for several years as a middle school computer teacher and then we had our four children. For seven years I chose to be a stay-at-home mom and then I felt God calling me to return to my passion of working with all children. Therefore, I accepted a job as the daycare director for our church, which blossomed into me serving as the Outreach Pastor and Youth Pastor for several years. In 2014, I felt called to come back to Missouri and to return to the public school setting. I obtained a job at Nixa High School as the High-Needs Special Education teacher and taught there for six years and taught in an elementary cross-categorical room for one year. For the next three years, I served as a Special Education Process Coordinator. I transitioned to the Springfield Public School District in 2023 to work at Carver Middle School as their Coordinator of Site Interventions and I am currently working as an assistant principal at Pershing K-8.
