We Need Your Voice!

Honoring CBC by Renaming Theology and Global Church Ministries Department

We have begun the process to rename our Theology and Global Church Ministries Department to honor the legacy of Central Bible College. A committee has been formed and a process developed to select the name, but we would like to give you an opportunity to submit names or offer suggestions. The names can be individuals that have had significant impact for Central Bible College and the Assemblies of God.

Submitting a nomination is now closed.

The department’s new name will be announced at this year’s General Council in Orlando, Florida. All recommendations and suggestions need to be submitted by June 14th.

Preparing Tomorrow’s Ministry Leaders

I am pleased to report that the single largest area of study at Evangel University today is ministry preparation with a total of 549 majors from undergraduate through seminary programs. Within our undergraduate majors, ministry majors are the third largest area of study. In addition, Biblical Studies is our single largest minor among all undergraduate students.

CBC Legacy

We have completed several projects on campus to visibly honor CBC beginning with the creation of the video in the Heritage Room that recounts the history of the founding of CBC, Evangel, and AGTS along with photos and artifacts displayed in the room. We replicated the CBC Walk of Faith pavers and placed them along with the CBC Bowie Hall cornerstone at the entrance of our Spence Chapel. Several CBC alumni helped with the fundraising project to create the CBC Prayer Garden with the original CBC arch at the entrance and participated in the dedication at the garden at homecoming. The Advancement Department continues to engage CBC alumni with the monthly e-newsletter The Centralite, invitations to Homecoming, mail campaigns, and the CBC alumni reception at General Council.

I am grateful for your service and prayers as we continue to equip students to become Spirit-empowered servants of God who will impact the church and society globally.
