Tell us about your career and what you do now.
I graduated from CBC in 1993 and my wife, Sharon (CBC, ‘91), and I served in several staff positions at churches in Indiana & Illinois from 1994-2003. We served as Senior Pastors of New Life Assembly of God in Troy, Illinois from 2004-2014. At time, God opened the door for me to begin serving at Convoy of Hope as the Construction Coordinator, overseeing the rebuilding of homes for storm survivors. I currently serve as the Facilities Director of Convoy’s Global Headquarters & World Distribution Center and just celebrated ten years with COH.

What is your favorite memory from CBC?
To narrow down a “favorite” memory is challenging to do since there are many. The first memory I have would be the incredible faculty that poured into my life inside and outside of the classroom. All of the chapel experiences where my heart was transformed and challenged to submit to God’s call on my life are also amazing memories.

How did CBC help you identify/develop your calling?
My years at CBC instilled the needed disciplines of living a life of pursuit of my ministry calling! The foundation for that is a personal time devoted to reading the scriptures and prayer.

How did your experience at CBC prepare you for life after graduation?
My experience at CBC was the foundation for the life of ministry to be built upon. My classes helped prepare me for ministry. The chapel services prepared me to be the person God is daily transforming me to be. A strong foundation is essential to everything that is built upon it!

What advice would you give a current student preparing for the workforce?
The advice that I would impart to current students would be to intentionally create relationships with fellow students & faculty. These relationships will develop into an invaluable network of support, guidance, wisdom, & friendship that you will be able to pull resources from year after year, through the good times, and the not so good times.

What would you look for if you were in a position to hire a new graduate?
Everything in a person’s life flows from the inside out. I would look for the qualities of integrity, character, a disciplined life, and a strong work ethic. These qualities are produced from within and are lived out in a person’s life.
