SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel University’s Departments of Music and Undergraduate Admissions will host prospective students and their families for a specialized “Music Day” EU Preview on Friday, Feb. 13.
Students interested in Evangel’s music program will have the opportunity to audition for music scholarships throughout the day. This is the first opportunity for prospective music students to audition this semester.
Evangel’s music department has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1970. Bachelor’s degrees offered include: Music, Music Education, Music Performance, Music Business, Recording Technology and Worship Leadership.
“The music department offers degree programs in which students interact with distinguished performers, composers, and scholars and attend concerts by renowned music artists,” said Tom Matrone, chair. “Each degree program is carefully designed to ensure that students build strong musical skills, gain professional training and experience a wide range of musical activities.”
In addition to the Music Day, other prospective students will visit the campus as part of EU Preview. Those students visiting will be able to attend classes, meet with professors, and talk with their admissions counselors.

8 a.m. — Arrival and Check In
8:15 a.m. — Welcome Session
8:30 a.m. — Campus Tour with Admissions Counselor
10 a.m. — Chapel with EU Student Host
11 a.m. — Classroom Visit
Noon — Student’s Lunch with Student Host
1 p.m. — Academic Department Information Sessions
2 p.m. — Q&A with Admissions & Student Financial Services

There are two more EU Preview Days scheduled for the spring semester.

- Friday, April 17 – does not include music auditions
