SPRINGFIELD, Mo. —Sheri Phillips, director of career development at Evangel University, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on June 12, 2009.
She will receive her Ph.D. in higher education leadership during official graduation ceremonies on July 31, 2009, at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif.
The title of Phillips’ dissertation is “Predictors of Vocational Calling in Christian College Students: A Structural Model.”
A 1981 graduate of Evangel University, Phillips holds a B.S. in psychology and an M.A. from Wheaton College.
She has worked at Evangel since 1985 in various capacities: residence director in Walther and Lewis Halls, assistant to the dean of students, director of student life and director of academic and career development.
As director of career development, Phillips provides assistance and support for students regarding their majors and careers.
In addition to this position, Phillips also serves as an adjunct faculty member, teaching several undergraduate and graduate courses such as essential Christianity, career development theory and assessment, behavioral sciences seminar, and personal leadership.
