Dr. Jeff FulksSpringfield, Mo — Dr. Jeff Fulks, chair of the behavioral sciences department, has been named director of graduate studies at Evangel University.

Evangel launched its Graduate Studies program in 1998 and currently offers eight master's degree programs in the areas of teacher education, psychology, school counseling and organizational leadership.

Fulks replaces Dr. Jeff Hittenberger, who recently accepted the invitation from Vanguard University to be its provost/vice president for academic affairs. Hittenberger joined the Evangel faculty in 2006 and has served with distinction as professor of education and director of graduate studies.

"I am looking forward to building on the work of Dr. Hittenberger and the leadership team to increase the value of graduate education at Evangel University," Fulks said.

"Dr. Fulks has an impressive record of service since coming to Evangel in 1994 as professor of social work," says Dr. Glenn Bernet, academic dean and vice president for academic affairs.

Since 1999, Fulks has served as chair of the behavioral sciences department and was a part of the planning team for the start of Evangel's graduate studies program.

He has also served on the graduate studies council since its beginning and was instrumental in developing the master of organizational leadership program and is its coordinator.

Fulks was a student at Evangel from 1973-1975. He holds a B.S. and an M.S. from Illinois State University and a Ph.D from the University of Texas at Arlington.
