SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Evangel graduate Jessica (Franck) Graham is starring in the lead role of the Wellington Opera House, New Zealand, production of “Sound of Music,” which runs through Oct. 11.
Graham can be seen throughout the capital city of Wellington on billboards and cars advertising for the production.
According to Jill Franck, Graham’s mother, Jessica and her husband, Isaac, walked into the “Sound of Music” auditions in hopes of acquiring fun, background roles in the play. To their surprise, Jessica was given the lead role of Maria and Isaac the role of Captain Von Trapp.
Graham graduated from Evangel in 2004 with majors in music and education. She went on to further her career and acquire her master’s in music performance at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. Graham now holds the position of music director at Elim International Church in Wellington.
The new production of the “Sound of Music” is showing in the Wellington Opera House through Oct. 11. The production is directed by Grant Meese (Cats) and he is joined by renowned musical director Michael Nicholas Williams.
