Departmental Mentoring
Description:
LifeWorks has developed a mentoring concept designed to give academic departments more opportunities to mentor their students. You can get involved with this opportunity by developing a proposal for departmental LifeWorks funds that will provide an experience for students that will:
- Encourage them to explore possible career paths and think about crucial issues in certain career paths.
- Challenge them to reflect on the relationship of their spiritual and moral commitments and their career and work goals.
- Allow them to interact with professionals in relevant professions.
Mentoring experiences will be beyond what is normally expected – an “added value” experience. Classroom time for orientation and accountability will be integral to the mentoring experience. (The class fee will be waived if it takes a student into the next tuition category.)
Opportunities:
- Conferences, camps, retreats
- Travel within the United States and abroad
- Special Speakers
- Opportunities as diverse as your students!
