Springfield, MO – Max Schumann earned a seventh place finish in the men’s marathon at the NAIA National Championship meet in Edwardsville, Illinois on Saturday. Schumann completed the 26-mile race in 2 hours, 35 minutes and 17 seconds. The junior from Belton, Missouri was just seven minutes off of the winning time.
Freshman Austin Jacobs finished 16th in the marathon with a time of 2:42:35 and Nick Hestand, a freshman from Lee’s Summit, also qualified but was injured and unable to participate. Schumann’s seventh place finish earned Evangel two team points in the national meet.
