Springfield, Mo. — The Evangel University women’s basketball program announces the signing of Jessica Rumfelt from Bolivar, Missouri.

Rumfelt, a 6’1” center / forward, earned a varsity basketball letter in all four years at Bolivar High School and was an all-conference selection in the Central Ozark Conference this season in addition to being named to the All-District team. Rumfelt averaged 12.7 points and 9.8 rebounds for the Lady Liberators this year while shooting 58.7 % from the field and 77.8 % from the free throw line. She also added 2.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.

Rumfelt was part of Bolivar’s 2008 Class 4 State Championship after missing the first half of the year to an injury, she came back to play in the second portion of that season. She was also a member of Bolivar’s 3rd place finish in the state during her sophomore season in 2007.

“Jessica will help fill a void in the post with the graduation of our two starting inside players,” said Evangel head coach Leon Neal. “She is athletic enough to play away from the basket but is also skilled at posting up and is a good defensive player.”

Rumfelt is also a member of the National Honor Society, student council, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, received four academic letters and has been a standout softball player at Bolivar High School.
