Springfield, MO — Evangel guard Ashlee Luko was honored as an honorable mention member of the NAIA Division I All-American team. The list was announced today by the NAIA.
Luko finished her sophomore season with the Lady Crusaders averaging 12.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and a 3.3 assists per game. The Nixa product was a First Team all-conference selection in the Heart of America Athletic Conference this season.
Luko finished among the national leaders in free throw percentage making 83.7 % of her foul shots and she was among the conference leaders in three-point percentage hitting 38.3% behind the three-point line.
She is the first All-American from the Evangel women’s basketball program since 2005 when NaTasha Neal and Shaletha Page were named to the NAIA-II All-American Team and Luko is the first underclassman to make the list since Neal was named an All-American as a sophomore in 2003.
Luko helped the Lady Crusaders to a 21-12 record for season and a Heart of America conference regular season championship with a 16-4 league record.
