Majors
Business majors can earn a bachelor of business administration or an associate of arts degree. They can be certified to teach business subjects in middle schools and high schools. The Department of Business offers five major and six minor areas of study.
- Accounting prepares you for service in public or private accounting. Your 124-hour undergraduate degree prepares you for a 36-hour MBA or MA program in order to meet the 150-hour requirement for obtaining the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) status.
- Business Education offers courses in computer soft-ware skills, business communication and instructional methods for students who plan to teach in middle and secondary schools.
- Public Administration is offered in conjunction with our Department of Social Sciences for students interested in leadership and management of public organizations.
- Management offers training in communication skills, decision-making, problem-solving and leadership, within the framework of a broad understanding of Fortune 500 and small business.
- Marketing teaches the important functions of product design, pricing, distribution and promotion. Marketing, management and research courses prepare you for careers in advertising, sales, public relations or marketing research or promotions management.
